SENIOR PRUDENTIAL MANAGER-LIQUIDITY RISK SPECIALIST- CONSULTING

Our client is a London based Regulatory consultancy providing Risk, Regulatory and Consultancy advice to a variety of different financial services clients

They are seeking a Specialist Liquidity Risk Manager to join the Financial Services Advisory (Prudential) team where you’ll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects relating to market and liquidity risk such as ILAAP reviews, LCR/PRA110 regulatory reporting reviews, liquidity optimisation, impact assessment of market risk calculations/Pillar 2 market risk and assessing interest rate risk in the banking book (IRRBB)

Projects are typically structured as internal audit reviews, S.166 skilled person reviews and other external reviews requested by our clients.

The client base you will work on will be diverse both in terms of size, complexity, jurisdiction and culture. Some of the liquidity work is focused on supporting specialist, international and SME banks (including several challenger banks) along with assisting investment firms (such as broker dealers, platforms and asset managers) with the market/liquidity risk aspects of the new IFPR regulation.

The role involves leading the planning of assignments and organising the delivery of the work, directly leading more complex assignments within your specialism and supervising a developing more junior team members. It may also involve running overall assurance, advisory or internal audit engagements. You will play an important role in developing and maintaining deep client relationships and in developing members of the team. You will have the opportunity to further develop specialist sub sector, technical and regulatory knowledge and be involved in both business and team development.

You’ll also;

  • Providing liquidity and market risk subject matter expert input to the financial services advisory team on regulatory reporting and prudential risk including technical updates, support in planning discussions and issue resolution and training of staff
  • Managing liquidity and market risk regulatory assignments for Financial Services clients (including internal audit), including planning, organisation of resources and review within your specialism
  • Creating, managing and delivering internal regulatory assurance reviews within your specialism and making value-add recommendations to senior management
  • Supporting the Partner and Director to develop and deliver the prudential liquidity/market risk strategy
  • Leading relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

 

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will have the following:

Educated at least to ‘A’ Level standard or equivalent. Desirable – Professional qualification (eg. ACA, CFA, CISI/CII)

A minimum of five years Consulting experience within Prudential Risk, or the ability to hold the position of senior Manager, having previously worked at such a level in a highly regarding Banking institution

Hands-on experience of prudential requirements and regulatory framework for banks.

Excellent understanding of the EU and UK financial services legislation, including the CRD.

Sound knowledge of GENPRU and, ideally, IFPRU.

Strong analytical skills including financial analysis and proficiency with the MS Office tools.

Excellent report writing, communication and presentation skills.

Experience in liaising with clients and comfortable in dealing with senior management.

Solid experience in liquidity risk and at, ideally, one of the following: market risk; ICAAP, ILAAP, Recovery Plan; stress-testing; or ESG risk.

Detailed knowledge of COREP LCR/NSFR and PRA110 regulatory reporting

Excellent technical competence and quick learning skills, and ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and convey practical and comprehensible advice in plain English;

Able to use initiative, work unsupervised and comfortable in taking responsibility;

Organised, able to cope with pressure and meet strict deadlines; and also be responsible for managing client engagements including billing.

Results oriented with commercial awareness and a focus on business development.

Ability to manager and lead junior members of the team
