Our client is a highly regarded international financial services company. They are seeking to employ a Head of Marketing for Banking solutions
Main purpose of the Role
The head of marketing will lead the operating unit’s marketing strategy and execution through the full marketing lifecycle: Planning, campaign design, content creation, execution, monitoring, optimization and analysis.
Responsible for driving the development of coherent, focused marketing strategies that aim to strengthen and reinforce the company’s banking software brand and position the firm and its solutions effectively with key target markets.
Working with the central teams to deliver content and communication campaigns that deliver to the Operating Units and corporate brand priorities
Crafting overall value proposition and key messages that articulate our proposition in the industry ecosystem and informs and educates.
Clearly differentiating flagship solutions from new propositions and complementary products
Building product promotion plans, defining preferred marketing channels and content goals
Working with corporate communications to deliver powerful and brand-consistent media campaigns.
Creating and maintaining list of industry issues the business needs to position itself on through thought leadership content
Collaborating with relevant colleagues and teams within MA to build MA Banking Software D&I brand and positioning, reflecting our objectives throughout our collateral, speakers, and other initiatives; sourcing opportunities for the executive leadership to contribute at relevant industry forums.
This is a cross-functional role, requiring collaboration across the business to represent the Operating Units priorities and ensure alignment with central marketing function and other stakeholders including product management, business strategy and sales.
Builds and owns the Operating Units marketing strategy and marketing plan, ROI targets and budgets aligned to the leadership team goals and in collaboration with product strategy and sales.
Oversees and advises on the execution of marketing plan: provide campaign planning and monitoring, and work with team with MA marketing for execution
In team with Market development and product strategy functions, defines customer personas from insight on markets, customers values, and competitor offerings and articulate clearly differentiated, customer-oriented propositions.
Articulates the global product value proposition, key customer benefits (quantitative and qualitative) and unique selling points, messaging, and objection handling material (globally and locally).
Brings company messaging and positioning to life by developing and delivering high-impact content ideas and marketing assets to support digital campaigns that span the stages of buyer journey. Acts as brand guardian for the Operating Units and evangelizes brand values, style, guidelines and tone of voice.
Coordinates the design and delivery of internal training plans targeting all customer facing functions and partners, ensuring clear understanding of value proposition as well as product scope/boundaries.
Working with Events team, architects and supports Banking Software flagship annual event strategy.
Owns third party (sponsored) event selection for the Operating Units and liaises with the demand generation team to deliver successful events, speakers and content.
Supports the identification and development of marketing partnerships, focused on delivering co-authored content and running joint events. Supports channel sales partners in selected markets where relevant.
Working with MA central marketing, communicates with industry experts and supports MA marketing-led industry awards submissions and promotion process.
Obtains customer feedback regarding products and services and secures client testimonials, managing client and legal approval process and ensuring wide distribution
Aligns with market development, Customer Success, product development and Innovation teams, to create and manage product community strategies, including positioning, content and cross selling tactics.
Identifies and creates meaningful interactions with Influencer community by identifying relevant digital platforms and community management models for both customer acquisition and retention.
Performance and budget management
Publish monthly, quarterly and annual marketing plans and budgets for the Banking Software franchise
Report on the impact of marketing campaigns utilizing relevant marketing attribution and ROI measures for both awareness and sales.
Work with Sales enablement and Customer success teams to understand the impact of campaigns and work with product strategy on optimisation tactics.
Communicate proactively to ensure consistent understanding of our growth initiatives across our teams, helping to ensure a coherent approach to industry engagement and internal dialogue. Identify and address silo-behaviour, both through effective use of formal governance and by building and maintaining strong internal relationships.
Build a win-win relationship with MA central marketing where the two functions build on each other and work in partnership to meet objectives

Extensive knowledge of marketing principles with demonstrated marketing planning and execution skills in a senior B2B marketing role.
Passion for building high impact marketing campaigns and articulating powerful clear messages
Experience in a similar senior role in Lending, Risk or Finance banking software industry, alternatively new technologies / transforming industries. Can write or direct writing of industry content.
Understands buyers personas and purchasing patterns in the above listed industries
Is aware of key industry players and potential partners for joint marketing
Strong strategic thinking, problem solving, analytical / critical thinking skills
Ability to analyse customer and market data to spot opportunities
Displays excellent project management abilities, to manage multiple plans and projects and rationalise according to business priorities and budgets.
Leads with conviction, able to communicate persuasively in writing and in person.
Great attention to detail
Excellent relationship-building skills, enabling you to build strong, long term relationships whilst robustly challenging conclusions and direction.
Ability to work with limited direction, usually within a complex and often ambiguous environment, to drive rigorous, fact-based recommendations to OU management.
Experience in managing a team, driving change, coach and develop talent.
